Western Gallery at Western Washington University features 5-6 temporary art exhibitions annually, concentrating on national and international art. The gallery is also responsible for Western’s Outdoor Sculpture Collection.
Sep 27-Dec 8 Coded Threads: Textiles and Technology, explores the intersections of art and technology through new works using microscopic viruses, thermochromic ink, sensors, LED lights, images from social media, and data from laboratory experiments. New tools and techniques, such as laser cutting, 3D printing, digital jacquard looms, are also explored.
